The Family Care Network presents - The 5th Annual Miracle Miles for Kids

A benefit for foster and high-needs children and families

Registration:
$30 early bird-registration through May 4th 
(Online registration closes at 11:59pm on May 4th)

$45 pre-registration from May 5th to May 9th
(All pre-registration closes at noon on May 9th)

$45 at walk-up registration on race day, May 10th

Participants registered after May 4th are NOT eligible to take advantage of early packet pick-up and must arrive prior to 8am on race day to obtain their race bib and timing chip.

Why Participate in Miracle Miles?

At only 13 years old, Sandra* found herself in desperate need of a safe place to live. Her parents, their mental health needs having gone unmet, had been unable to provide Sandra a safe and stable environment in which to live. Upon being placed into foster care with the Family Care Network, Sandra struggled within her new circumstances, saying, “I felt I didn’t belong. I was waiting for [my foster parents] to tell me to get out—just like my real parents did.” But Sandra’s fears never came to fruition, her stating, “No matter what I said or did, my foster mom kept trying and believing in me.” Sandra is now a successful college graduate, and is committed to raising her family with the same kind of love and support she received from her Family Care Network foster parents.

Children like Sandra exist in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties, and they need the support of a caring community in order to be successful. The Family Care Network has been serving these children, in addition to youth and families, since 1987, serving over 2,000 in 2006/07.

Basic program funding sources are often very limited in scope and do not allow the agency to fully meet the needs of the children, youth and families we serve. Thus, the agency has become committed to developing community-based resources to further fulfill our mission. Miracle Miles for Kids is a fundraiser created by the Family Care Network to provide private funding for the agency’s programs.

By partnering with us for Miracle Miles for Kids, you are providing foster and high-needs children and families a link to the community—you are communicating that their needs matter. You may not be able to personally assist those in need, but through Miracle Miles for Kids, you have the unique opportunity to be a part of the miracle.
